The present world teaches ang gets us used to the rush and overwhelming nature of everyday life. We're always in a hurry, working our asses off, hoping for better tomorow and reaching out fot the success. Well, certainly not everybody does so but it seems like a great majority does. But every now and then we need a break and decide to go on holidays. Chill and relax, cut ourselves off the reality.
We all have our dream spots. Places we'd love to visit, where we feel we could rest. Some go to an island, others to the country side or to the forest. But there's still this group that finds it most relaxing to runaway to another city. It's peculiar how one can find their "zen" amid buzz and fuss of the city.
It seems quite understandalbe to some extend though. Living in the rapid world, not realizing how fast days pass by makes us get used to certain aspects of everyday life that might seem vital, we simply can't do without them. Like a mall or a fresh market nearby, or a cup of decent coffee. The tiny and simple things that make a city some kind of a luxury in comparison to the wilderness.
But let's be honest it's not the main issue anymore. These things have been around for quite a time and people figured out how to manage them when they wish to go away for a bit to rest. Even if there's no sign of our beloved civilization in the 20 miles radius. We live in the times that much more complex matters come along. It's not only about the basic needs anymore, or maybe it's just that our basic needs have changed so much.
The Y generation, or even the 3F generation as it's been indicated recently, is a common phenomenon. It's not something new anymore. This is a major part of our society. But what about it, right? What does it have to do with holidays? Well, as pointed out previously it's not about the basic needs anymore unless we define them differently. Can you imagine going away for a week or two somewhere with absolutely no reception or Internet? Yeah...right.
So, looking from this angle a city is a perfect solution. Another thing is that there's always something to do in the city, you can't get bored and considering the workaholics and control freaks it's rather hard for them to go along a few days with so much spare time on their hands.
I'm not saying it's just cities that we should choose as our holiday destinations but they are an option. Another thing is that probably everyone has a few towns they'd like to visit. And that's an interesting subject, which cities would be the most desired holiday locations? And I'm not talking about the typical vacation spots but rather the big agglomerations.
Some people after visiting the city wish they could move there, live there - that's the power of good experience. What's your dream holiday/live in city? Comment or take a poll on the side - choose or add one.
